Happy Holidays, everyone!
We’d love to treat you all to a big glass of apple cider whiskey sangria.
We made this simple recipe during our Girl’s Gift Exchange Holiday party this past week and it was a major hit.
Everyone’s significant others ended up tagging along for the food and the whiskey and this drink was so popular that we made three, yes you read that correctly, THREE batches in one evening.
Both the girls and the guys couldn’t get enough.
That’s why it’s included in our roundup of 35 Amazing Whiskey Christmas Drinks to make at home.
Cascade Blonde American Whiskey is the perfect spirit for this sangria.
It is the world’s first double chilled filtered blonde whiskey, a lighter whiskey which complements the sparkling wine really well in this cocktail.
The apple cider reminds you of the Autumn, while the cinnamon sticks, star anise and pomegranate seeds bring a winter touch as festive garnishes.
The sparkling wine reminds us of New Years, which means we have an excuse to make this cocktail all through January as well!
This festive concoction is fantastic for entertaining because you can make a large batch all at once and it is super quick to pull together.
You want to spend time with your guests during a party, not making a dozen craft cocktails individually!
We know you’ll be a fan of this can’t fail cocktail recipe.
Pro tip: don’t forget to eat the boozy apples!
Apple Cider Whiskey Sangria Recipe
Makes 4 glasses of sangria
Ingredients:
2 cups unfiltered apple cider
¾ cup of Cascade Blonde American Whiskey
½ bottle of sparkling wine
Cinnamon sticks
Star Anise
1 apple, sliced
Pomegranate seeds, for garnish
Mix together the apple cider, whiskey, sliced apple, cinnamon and star anise. Refrigerate for an hour or so.
This helps to allow the apple to infuse some of the flavors into the fruit.
Right before serving, add the sparkling wine and pomegranate seeds. Stir with a long bar spoon.
Be sure to scoop some of the fruit and spices into the serving glasses for guests to enjoy!
