Park City, Utah is an incredible mountain town that has so much to offer all throughout the year.
For a romantic Autumn getaway, consider visiting from the end of September through early November.

The mountains are painted in colors of buttery yellow, bright orange, and vibrant red and you can enjoy a crisp breeze paired with the warmth of the mountain sunshine.
October is a lovely time to visit since it’s technically the shoulder season before the slopes are filled with ski bunnies from all over the world.

As a world-renowned ski destination that hosted the 2002 (and soon the 2034 Winter Olympics), it’s no wonder that Park City’s summits and the Utah Olympic Park draw in so many winter sports lovers.
However, in Autumn you’ll find incredible food experiences from wine festivals, the oktoberfest celebrations, to distillery release parties as well.
If you’re a food lover, don’t miss these Park City food experiences.

Park City Wine Festival
Wine lovers, rejoice! How would you like to savor over 200 different wines nestled in the gorgeous mountains of Park City?
Schedule a trip to Park City during the Park City Wine Festival.
There are a number of special events dedicated to foodies who love gourmet experiences.
The biggest way to join in the fun is the Wine Festival Grand Tasting.

With breathtaking views of the mountains boasting fall foliage, live music, small bites, and lots of wine and spirits to taste, there is something for everyone.
We have been to many food festivals all around the world, and we can confidently say this was the most relaxing festival.
With plenty of seating and incredible views, it was the perfect place to relax and spend the day discovering new delicious wines.

Some of our favorite tastings were the Rombauer Zinfindel as well as many of the offerings in the dedicated Daou umbrella bar.
We also were so excited to see chef Esdras Ochoa from one of our favorite food competition shows with his team making a delicious wagyu steak taco.

High West Distillery
One of the most popular distilleries in America, High West Distillery has been crafting quality spirits for nearly 20 years.
The High West Distillery is a destination that features a tasting room as well as an elegantly cozy restaurant in Park City.
We were lucky enough to visit during the release of their Midwinter’s Night Dram, a specialty whiskey that is a blend of straight rye whiskeys aged from 4 to 10 years old. That custom blend is then aged in ruby and tawny port barrels.
We have been fans of A Midwinter’s Night Dram for years and the 2025 edition (Act 13) might be our favorite one yet.
We celebrated the release at the A Midwinter Night’s Dram Release Party, a woodland masquerade overlooking gorgeous Park City.

The release party was one of the history books and something that will draw us back to Park City every year.
Among hundreds of other masqueraded guests you’ll receive a first taste of that year’s Midwinter’s Night Dram release the day prior to it being available to the public.
Along with additional craft cocktails made from High West spirits, you’ll find a raw bar overflowing with oysters, shrimp, crab, claws, smoked salmon, scallops, and crudo – and that’s just the raw bar!
We also feasted on a stunning charcuterie and antipasto spread and carving stations serving up elk pastrami, iberico pork ribs, and salmon fillets.

As the night turned dark, we headed into a tent to taste some of the past High West releases for a side-by-side whiskey tasting to compare the flavor notes to this year’s Act 13 release.
The tastings were complemented with some incredible sweets from Chomp Donuts, including a pumpkin cherry fritter that knocked our socks off as well as a custard donut that came complete with a whiskey maple pipette!
Chomp Donuts & Coffee is a brand new addition to Park City, and is a must stop for donut lovers.
The ambiance of the event against the Utah sky is pure magic, with jaw dropping performers and costumes.

It’s one of the best parties we’ve been to (and we party… a lot!).
Even if you can’t make it to the release party, be sure to plan a stop at this destination distillery and restaurant.

Tupelo
Our favorite meal while in Park City was at Tupelo.
Chef Matthew Harris grew up in Atlanta, so you’ll find some southern-inspired menu items, like his mother’s deviled eggs recipe, alongside regional dishes that showcase Utah’s local produce and wild game.
His Southern roots are also on display with his seasonal fried chicken entree, which is available during the spring through fall seasons.

For a cozy dish on a cool day, you need to order the elk bolognese. It’s comfort food at its finest and the portion size is huge!
Their beef and barley is also a must-order signature dish. The beef is perfectly cooked, but what makes it special is the barley “risotto” that we will be dreaming about.

The chef even uses apples from his own backyard, which was present as a garnish on the oh-so-tender pork cheek appetizer as well as in the apple fritter dessert.
It was topped with the creamiest pistachio gelato that could rival Italy.
From a libation standpoint, Tupelo also has our favorite craft cocktails.

The Tea Time was perfectly balanced with rum, jasmine tea, vanilla, lemon, and a frothy egg white topper.
They are also serving up the best negroni we’ve tasted, which had all the flavor without the excess bitterness.

Park City Speakeasy
We stumbled upon Park City’s only speakeasy by accident.
As we were browsing the adorable western wear shop, Kemosabe, we overheard two men walking towards the back as an employee asked “Are you here for the bar?”
The next thing we knew a secret wall opened up and led them into a hidden secret speakeasy featuring a one way mirror.

The speakeasy is serving up a variety of craft cocktails, beer, and wine in a cool lounge with neon signs, needlepoint artwork, and a bison mount hanging on the wall.
It’s the most mysteriously fun spot on Main Street to sneak in for a tasty libation.

Hearth and Hill
Hearth and Hill is a Park City restaurant that has earned a number of “Best of State” awards over the years.
Serving up New American cuisine, you’ll find everything from rich and indulgent truffle mac and cheese, to Asian-fusion dishes like tonkotsu ramen and homemade pork gyoza.
This is a great lunch spot as they offer a $20 lunch special, which is a three course meal of an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The set prix fixe lunch special menu changes each day of the week.
Be sure to order the vegetarian mushroom french dip.
As carnivores, we typically shy away from vegetarian dishes, but the big umami flavors paired with sweet caramelized onions and gooey cheese makes this a must-order sandwich!

Be sure to save room for dessert, the tres leches cake came with a flame-filled show and tasted like a cross between a baked Alaska and a moist cake. What’s not to love!?
After your meal, walk across the street to the Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter, a 1,200 acre nature preserve, for a beautiful rooftop observation deck where you can spot local wildlife.
There are even family-friendly interactive exhibits to explore!

Prime Pairings Wine Dinner Butcher’s Chop House
Another perk of visiting Park City during the wine festival is the fact that there are additional events that spotlight specialty food and wine.
We had the honor of attending the Prime Pairings Wine Dinner at Butcher’s Chop House.
The menu showcased five wines from Alexander Valley Vineyards estate paired with a fall menu.

In addition to a salad featuring a seasonal maple dijon vinaigrette, the menu paid homage to fall flavors and wild game like elk and buffalo.
The dinner was an intimate way to get to know the winery and all of the pairings were delightful.

Cafe Terigo
After a day of exploring art galleries and boutiques on picturesque Main Street, you’ll probably work up an appetite.
For a charming spot on Main Street with al fresco dining, check out Café Terigo.
This eatery is serving up elevated Italian fare.
You’ll find dishes like pastas and risottos alongside protein-packed entrees like lamb chops, wagyu burgers, and grilled bone-in pork chops on the dinner menu, and some lighter bites over lunch.
The dish that we loved the most were the grilled artichokes. They were smokey from the grill and lightened up with bright lemon and a creamy aioli.

Another notable creation from Cafe Terigo is their homemade ricotta!
Try it on a board with pesto, focaccia, and tomatoes for a perfect grazing platter to pair with their wine list or craft cocktails.

The Pendry Hotel + KITA
The Pendry Hotel is a gorgeous place to stay during your stay in Park City.
In addition to spacious villas with a full kitchen and laundry, you’ll also find some delicious eats.
We also could not get enough of their rooftop pool and jacuzzi with a view of the stunning mountainside.

Another foodie calendar item to remember is that everyday guests can pick-up a smores set, and roast their own smores around one of their many fireplace seating areas.
The star restaurant of the hotel is KITA, a Japanese restaurant serving sushi as well as Japanese steakhouse cuisine.

The beef offerings are impressive, with everything from USDA Prime, to American Wagyu, to dry aged beef, to premium Japanese A5 Wagyu.
We opted for their ssam platter which means your steak comes with lettuce and shiso leafs to make lettuce wraps with pickled veggies and some signature sauces.
It added a burst of flavor to an already incredible delmonico steak fillet.

In addition to their outstanding steak selection, you can also find crudo dishes and sushi on the menu.
We loved the Hotate Batayaki, which was a nigiri of seared scallop kissed by a flame.

You can also find a number of sushi maki rolls, which were surprisingly large portions compared to most sushi restaurants.
The restaurant also offers immersive culinary experiences like sushi-making classes and speciality dinners.

Park City in the Autumn is the perfect time to visit. It’s traditionally less busy than peak ski season, the fall foliage is so picturesque, and the mountainside campfire just oozes romance.
Plan your Park City adventure and add in these culinary experiences for an incredible getaway.
