No red onion on hand? This recipe can also be made with white onions the exact same way.

If you’re into pickled radishes (try them on your tacos!) you can also make them using the same recipe.

Pickled onions for tacos are one of our favorite ways to use this recipe.

It tastes amazing on our crockpot barbacoa recipe, which can also be made in an instant pot!

We also reach for pickled red onions on our buffalo chicken taco recipe.

How long do pickled onions last?

We put these onions on everything, so they never last long.

But, if you don’t eat them as fast as we do you can keep them covered and refrigerated in your fridge for 2 to 3 weeks.

It’s best to store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
