How to Make Hot Cocoa
You’ll find that recipes for crockpot hot chocolate can involve cocoa powder or it can use chocolate chips.
We like to choose to use chocolate chips because it creates a rich and creamy crockpot hot chocolate recipe.
For this last batch we actually used unsweetened chocolate chips since we were looking for a richer hot chocolate that wasn’t too sweet.
Consider the sweetness level you are looking for while you are picking up the chocolate chips for your crockpot hot chocolate.
The longer you cook this crockpot hot chocolate, the thicker it gets.
We usually serve it after it’s cooked for 1 ½ to 2 hours, but keep it cooking for longer, and you’ll get a super thick and creamy hot chocolate, similar to what you’ll find in Europe.
While we were on a tour of London, we stopped into a chocolatier who was famous for their hot chocolate. This recipe is similar to that famous chocolate shop recipe!
